MAXIMUS – 2022 GRADE Bay Draft Cross Gelding

Maximus is a Brabant/Quarter horse crossbred gelding that’s stands 17 hands tall. There’s good horses and then there’s a few exceptional horses, Maximus is one of those few! Maximus is extremely fun to ride, he is as gentle, quiet, and sure footed as they come. He is getting very soft in the arena, loping circles, moving off your feet and has a great stop for a big horse. Dimples and Dapples have been together since they were young.  Gentle Gentle Gentle. Dimples drives on the left and she is 15.2 hands, and Dapples is on the right at 15.3 hands. They were trained and used on a South Georgia plantation and we bought them from a friend three years ago. They are broke for anyone to drive. They are a perfect parade team as they are used to commotion, gunshots, and bird dogs running around their feet. We have driven Dimples and Dapples in parades in Livingston, Roundup and Billings and they have been unflappable. They are broke to voice commands and know to gee, haw, whoa, back, step up, and go easy. They were also used as a chuckwagon team for brandings in eastern Montana. They have drug lots of firewood logs to camp for us and have not got excited going through water or around deadfall. They are dual purpose as we have also packed them many times to and from wilderness camp. Dimples and Dapples are easy to harness, bridle, and cinch on a pack saddle. When you catch one you have caught the other as they are a true team who is always together in the mountains or on pasture.  They like attention and people. WAR PONY – 2017 GRADE Bay Paint Mare

War Pony is a broke, gentle, 14.3 hand nice-looking mare with a good neck rein and stop. She will ride by herself or with others. She was used as a guest horse on one-hour rides before we bought her, then we used her as a wrangle horse in our wilderness camps. She will stand tied by herself but is happy to be with the bunch. War Pony can really travel and has a great walk, trot, and lope. We rode her bareback with a halter quite a bit. She is both hobble- broke and picket-broke by a front foot.  She will go up the mountain daylight or dark and is sure-footed over deadfall. She has led the pack string, and held mules while they were packed with elk meat. She is a sensible smart mare. War Pony has a superficial scar on her left shoulder from scraping an irrigation wheel line on pasture this winter. We had the vet stitch it and it’s skin only and healed well. She was exposed to a bay roan 15.2 hand quarter stud last summer. ABIGAIL – 2011 GRADE Black Roan Molly Mule

Abigail is a good pack mule you can also ride out of a mammoth jack and a quarter mare. She is 15.1 hands and easy to catch. She is good about her ears and feet, and loads easily in a trailer. Abigail has a nice flat walk. She has a good wither and back and has been ridden with both a crupper and a britching. Abigail is a kind mule that likes to fit in with the string and is a better follower than leader. She is not a finished riding mule for the mountains but has been ridden quite a bit. Daffodil is a 16-hand, gentle, people-loving girl. She was part of a plantation team in South Georgia, but her mate died. Daffodil is very well broke to drive both single and double. She responds to voice commands. She is used to gunshots, excitement, lots of dogs and horses around, and has been in parades. Daffodil is good with all four feet with no kick and likes to be brushed. Easy to catch, harness, bridle, and load. We have also packed Daffodil and she was very calm packing as well. Badger is 15 hands of experienced Montana kids horse. We have owned him since he was four. He has been up and down the mountain trails of the wilderness in daylight and dark. He has led the string and been packed. Badger is a nice looking well-built horse with a nice head and hip. He is superbly gentle and easy to catch, bridle, saddle, load, and shoe.  He has wrangled bareback with a halter.  He gets along with mares, geldings, and mules and is not bossy. SWEET PEA – 2018 GRADE Black Pony MOLLY MULE

At 40″, Sweet Pea is just the sweetest little mule ever. EXTRA GENTLE – She is so kind, not at all your typical mule or pony. She has NO bad pony or mule habits. She loves people and attention especially kids. She will come find you anywhere and is super easy to catch. She has never offer to kick, bit, run off or do any of the bad habits that mules and ponies are known for. Our kids have played with her for the past year and she loves every bit of it. Sweet Pea is very patient and laid back with our 3 year old taking her over all the trail obstacles, if our daughter trips and falls when leading her, Sweet Pea just waits patiently for her to get up and they go again. She is great with her ears and feet, easy to saddle and bridle. She is excellent for that first beginner/lead line rider but she has been rode out independently by older kids. She has been trail rode and rode around the ranch moving cattle. She will go where she pointed, crosses water, ditches, downed timber and goes through the trail obstacles. Sweet Pea is great with the dogs, cats, alpacas, yacks, poultry, they don’t bother her and she doesn’t bother them. Sweet Pea gets along well in a mixed herd of ponies and horses, she is in the middle of the group, she doesn’t bother anyone but she doesn’t get picked on either. She is also happy in a pen by herself or in a box stall. She is easy to load, stands well for the vet and farrier. She is up to date on worming and vaccinations. Cajun is a half Belgian half Quarter horse gelding that stands 16.1 hands tall, weighs roughly 1300lbs, and wears a number 3 shoe. This big stout gelding has all the bone and shape you could ever want out of a crossbred horse. Cajun does not move like a big horse, he’s very smooth and broke in the bridle. He lopes, stops, and rolls back, all in a soft and correct manner, this stout horse knows where his feet are and can move like a little cow horse. Cajun has been used all over the ranch and stockyards; he has gathered cattle out of big country, sorted cattle, ran gates, loaded and unloaded trucks, roped cattle in the feed yard, and much more. We have also used Cajun to help pony and break colts, he does a fantastic job of holding rope and having a calm and cool mind. This gelding is also broke to drive and has been used to plow fields and put up hay, but has been primarily a saddle horse for the last two years. There’s not much this crossbred horse hasn’t done but yet has loads of potential to go in any direction you would like. He would make a great; pickup horse, rope horse, outfitter horse, trail horse, driving horse, or continue to be a top notch ranch horse. Little John is a half Belgian half Pony gelding, standing 13.1 hands tall, wears a number one shoe and weighs around 1000lbs. He is gentle, smart and athletic. This gelding may be short but he’s wide as he is tall and has penalty of bone and shape to carry around most any size of rider!  Little John is broke to ride and drive, he’s broke to drive single or double.  He was broke to drive first and has a lot of experience pulling a cart and buggy. He has been primarily a saddle horse for the last 8 months. We have used Little John to gather cattle, drag calves to the fire, load and unload trucks, trail and pleasure ride, and just about anything else you can think of. This gelding may be on the shorter side but he can do any job a tall horse can do. He’s stout, strong, and has lots of heart. Little John matches his rider, he can go as fast as you need or as slow as you need. He’s not only a ranch horse he does very well on the trails as well.
